Training Program

The state of Vermont designated the Vermont Department of Public Safety as the State Administrative Agency (SAA) pertaining to the Homeland Security Grants Directorate.  Vermont Emergency Management assumes primary responsibility to ensure emergency responders are adequately prepared to respond to WMD incidents. This includes preparing for a crisis through training and exercise.

By navigating the menus provided on this page, whole community may find valuable resources that will help to adequately prevent, protect from, mitigate, respond to and recover from incidents and to perform their responsibilities using the principles of the National Incident Management System. Those interested in attending courses are encouraged to further about this program.

Upcoming training opportunities are listed in the monthly VEM Newsletter.

The Learning Management System

The state of Vermont adopted an online Learning Management System (LMS), through Cornerstone, to manage and track all training of state employees as well as external partners.  This system is now home to instructor lead trainings as well as some online content.  All VEM training is now scheduled through the LMS and accessible with an account.
