Applicant Briefings for PA Disaster Declaration
Forums for communities in Addison, Chittenden, Essex, Franklin, Lamoille, Orange, Orleans and Washington counties seeking aid following severe storms and flooding from October 31 – November 1, 2019 will be held the week of January 27, 2020. Those counties are eligible to receive aid for damage to public infrastructure as included in the Major Disaster Declaration received on January 18.
The disaster declaration allows communities in those counties to receive 75 percent federal reimbursement for storm response and public infrastructure recovery. Those costs include power restoration, debris removal from public rights of way, and repairs to public roads, bridges, and other public infrastructure damaged as a result of the storm.
Cities and towns will receive guidance on the application process at next week’s applicant briefings. Officials from communities that intend to seek aid must attend one briefing.
