Seeking 2018 Emergency Management Director of the Year Nominations
Vermont Emergency Management (VEM) is seeking nominees for the 2018 Local Emergency Management Director (EMD) of the Year. The recipient will be will recognized at the Vermont Emergency Preparedness Conference on September 8th in Fairlee.
Every town and city in Vermont has an EMD. Besides coordinating support and response during disasters, the EMD is charged with ensuring a community has emergency plans in place and that local emergency personnel meet state and national training requirements.
EMDs are the key coordination link between residents, local governments, first responders, and the state. They are usually volunteers who wear many hats in their communities. VEM wants to acknowledge the great work they are all doing by recognizing one of their own as the Local EMD of the Year.
VEM is requesting nominations by August 24th. Nominees must be formally appointed town/city EM Directors or EM Coordinators; send nominations using the form below to firstname.lastname@example.org.
