Vermont Emergency Management Director of the Year

Did you know that every city & town in Vermont has an Emergency Management Director?  These individuals are responsible for the organization, administration, and coordination of emergency management.  They work hard throughout the year to keep your city or town prepared to address threats & hazards.

If you have an excellent Emergency Management Director, we want to hear about it!  Please consider submitting a nomination for the 2022 Emergency Management Director of the Year.  This honor is only awarded to one individual annually in recognition of excellence in this role. Nominations must be received by noon on Tuesday, August 9th to be considered.

To be eligible, a nominee must:

•  Have been a duly appointed Emergency Management Director for their town/city at some point between August 1, 2021 and August 1, 2022.

 •  Be from a town/city with a current Local Emergency Management Plan on file with Vermont Emergency Management.

 •  Be enrolled in or completed trainings within the Vermont EMD Certification Program.

If you don't know if your Emergency Management Director meets the eligibility criteria, that's OK!  Nominate them and we'll verify if they've met the requirements.

The recipient will be recognized at the annual Vermont Emergency Preparedness Conference. Additional information about the Vermont Emergency Preparedness Conference can be found on the conference webpage.
